The far future. The sun is about to go nova. Earth and moon have ceased their axial rotation and present one face continuously to the sun. The bright side of Earth is covered with a a vast carnivorous forest. The protagonists, Gren and his lady, journey to the terrifying dark side of the earth.

A 'fix-up' novel based on 5 stories originally published in The Magazine of Fantasy and Science Fiction in 1961.
