Biography

Samuel Youd (born Christopher Samuel Youd, on April 16, 1922) is a British science fiction author, best known for his novel The Death of Grass and The Tripods trilogy, published under the pseudonym "John Christopher". He won the Deutscher Jugendliteraturpreis in 1976. Youd has written under the pseudonyms John Christopher, Stanley Winchester, Hilary Ford, William Godfrey, William Vine, Peter Graaf, Peter Nichols, and Anthony Rye
